Escape on an outdoor adventure with a biking getaway on Alabama’s Gulf Coast! A bike rental is one of the best ways to see the surrounding area, and we have put together a biking guide to Alabama’s Gulf Coast to help you plan the perfect biking escape. This way, you can worry less about the day-to-day and spend more time exploring the beauty of the area.
Find Your Wheels in Gulf Shores
There are a variety of options to choose from when planning your vacation to Alabama’s Gulf Shores, with one of the newest ways being local bike-sharing. All you need is a smartphone for easy access to bike stations here at Gulf State Park, completely free for up to 3 hours! Anything beyond that is simply a small charge, with convenient stations located throughout so you can start and stop whenever you want. Just scan the code with the Bloom Bike Share app and you’re good to go.
Other options for rentals include Beach Bike Rentals near the Rosemary Dunes trail or Infinity Bike near Rattlesnake Ridge Trail. Both are great options for exploring the area and have slight advantages over the Bike Share app, namely that bike rentals are a more complete package that includes a helmet and lock, as well as having nicer 21-speed bicycles for a full day rental rather than only 3 hours. There are plenty of trails waiting for intrepid adventurers and biking enthusiasts, with the option to also bring your own bicycle if you would prefer not to rent or use bike-sharing services.

Discover Biking & Hiking Trails in Alabama
First up on Magnolia Spring’s personal recommendations is the Gulf Oak Ridge Trail, which offers beautiful views throughout its 3-mile length and is suitable for all experience levels with a magnificent overlook on the observation deck in the middle of the trail. We also recommend taking your bikes, heading through the Orange Beach Sports Complex right off the Twin Bridges Trail, and spending some time at The Wharf for a relaxing afternoon exploring the area’s wide variety of bars and restaurants.
Another fantastic hiking spot, The Eastern Shore Trail is 22 miles in total with the southern end only 2.7 miles away from the inn. It makes its way around the shores of Mobile Bay and has lovely views of the surrounding area. Also suitable for all experience levels, it’s not particularly difficult but will certainly take some time to complete if you are planning on tackling a large portion of this long trail. Fairhope is nearby as well, and close to the Eastern Shore Trail, with shopping and sightseeing opportunities around every corner and plenty of fun to be had for all.
