Upstream from there is observed as a no wake zone and is perfect for paddling.

Hugh S Branyon Trail Information

Located in Alabama Gulf State Park at Gulf Shores, AL, USA is The Hugh S Branyon Backcountry Trail System that includes over 26 miles of trails to explore. It is home to six different ecosystems: longleaf sand ridges, live oak maritime forests, wet pine flatwoods, coastal dune and swales, freshwater marshes and coastal hardwood swamps. Each one with its own diversity of native plants.

As home to Alabama’s Coastal Birding Trail, Hugh S Branyon is a birdwatcher’s paradise. Several locations are provided for viewing many reptile species. Mammals often seen on the trails include alligators, eagles, bobcats, raccoons, armadillos, otters, foxes, coyotes and wild boars.

Friendly and knowledgeable tour guides will provide a 2 hour trip through pristine
woodlands and natural habitats of our Backcountry Trail.
